Welcome to the Symposium on Emerging Trends in Sustainable Mobility and Transportation. We are delighted to host this dynamic platform dedicated to exploring the latest innovations, challenges, and advancements in sustainable transportation. As the world transitions toward cleaner, smarter, and more efficient mobility solutions, this symposium brings together leaders from academia and industry to discuss groundbreaking research and transformative strategies. The Government of India has envisioned achieving net-zero emissions by 2070 under the Paris Agreement. Advancing sustainable mobility plays a crucial role in addressing environmental concerns, reducing carbon footprints, and enhancing urban livability. The rapid growth of electric vehicles, intelligent transportation systems, and renewable energy integration demands urgent interdisciplinary collaboration to drive meaningful change. This symposium provides professionals and researchers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, establish networks, and contribute to the global movement toward a greener future. Join us as we shape the future of mobility and transportation through innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.

KLE Technological University, formerly known as B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology, is rooted in one of Karnataka's premier Engineering Institutions, a prestigious Engineering College in Hubballi. The founding organization KLE Society, Belgaum, established BVB College in 1947 to create an institution that would lay the foundation of modern engineering education in the northern region of Karnataka. Over the years, it has evolved to reach and hold a unique position of pride in India's technical education system. In pursuit of academic excellence, the college attained academic autonomy from the University Grant Commission in 2007. As an autonomous college, BVB established its distinctive character in the academic space through its curriculum and outstanding student experience. The institute transformed to become KLE Technological University in 2015.
The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) has been established with Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) 2023 Act. The ANRF aims to seed, grow and promote research and development (R&D) and foster a culture of research and innovation throughout India’s universities, colleges, research institutions, and R&D laboratories. ANRF will act as an apex body to provide high-level strategic direction of scientific research in the country as per recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP). With the establishment of ANRF, the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) established by an act of Parliament in 2008 has been subsumed into ANRF. ANRF will forge collaborations among the industry, academia, and government departments and research institutions, and create an interface mechanism for participation and contribution of industries and State governments in addition to the scientific and line ministries.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KLE Technological University, established in 1959, boasts a team of highly qualified, experienced, and motivated faculty. The department offers undergraduate and Ph.D. programs, fostering academic excellence and research innovation. Additionally, it has organized numerous short-term training programs, Faculty Development Programs, and workshops to enhance the professional growth of faculty members across various colleges/Institutes.
EVIC brings together students, faculty, and industry experts to tackle critical challenges in the EV ecosystem, including battery efficiency enhancement and seamless integration of EVs with renewable energy grids. Dedicated to advancing sustainable mobility, EVIC focuses on key areas such as battery Technology, EV charging infrastructure, and grid integration solutions. Through innovation, research, and industry collaboration, EVIC strives to create a cleaner, smarter, and more connected future for transportation. Together, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and EVIC are shaping the future of sustainable mobility and technological advancements in electric vehicles.
